4 C's

The old three R's vs the new four C's.
Connections, Context, Complexity and Connotations are all important and I agree with that, but do they replace the three R's NO WAY, I do not agree with that. Those individuals that are able to use the four C's, will already have a firm grasp of the three R's. Otherwise they would not be capable of using the four C's never mind spelling them.
Yes, I agree that we are on the verge of huge change and it is hard to believe that my students do not know what life is like without the internet, that is crazy, but true. However, when my students ask about friends on Facebook and how many, when I hear that someone has 300 friends never mind 900, that is crazy, and to me is just ego boosting, as how many of those 900 could tell you who this person is, really?
The student that used Facebook to study with is also fine with me, but the student that uses it to pass answers is not.
Does education need to change, sure do I have the answer no.
